CHPA to allocate 1,000 serviced lots in 2018

During the Course of 2018, the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) will be issuing 1,000 “serviced lots” in specified housing areas. This is according to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the CH&PA, Lelon Saul.

Lelon Saul, CH&PA CEO, Denise King-Tudor Director of Operations and Omar Narine, Director of Projects examines a plan of infrastructural works to be carried out in Lust-en-Rust, Parfait Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.

“During this year, it is our intention to allocate 1,000 serviced lots across the country and those will be at Linden, Perseverance, Cummings Lodge and Providence Gardens.” The CEO said.

Social amenities to be provided to areas where lands are to be allocated include, but are not limited to, the construction of roads, drainage structures, culverts, pipeline networks, bridges, land preparation and electrical distribution networks.

In the authority’s work programme, new infrastructural development works are also to be extended to Peter’s Hall on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD), while a series of others at Perseverance, Providence, Prosperity/Barnwell along with other areas were completed in 2017.

Focusing on Works in Parfait Harmonie, Director of Projects, Omar Narine said that $300M has been set aside for land development work in this area. Two areas in Parfait Harmonie that is aggressively being developed by the CH&PA is Recth-Door-Zee and Lust-en-Rust.

Thus far, roads have already been constructed, while pipelines have been installed and the work continues with the installation of electrical poles.
