Guyana’s Honorary Consul in India pays courtesy call on PM Nagamootoo

On Friday morning, Guyana’s Honorary Consul in Mumbai, India Dr. Ajeenkya Patil paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo at his official Main Street residence, Georgetown.

He was accompanied by a team of academic professionals from the Ajeenkya D. Y. Patil University. They were Dr. Sangram Jadhav and Hridesh Deshpande.

A number of matters were discussed during this morning’s meeting.

Dr. Patil is the Chairman of the Board of the Patil Group of Companies in India. It is currently constructing a medical school at Turkeyen. The new medical school is being constructed at an estimated cost of US $10million.

The Patil Group of Companies plans to engage the Government of Guyana on upgrading the West Demerara Regional Hospital as well as investing in the sugar industry.

Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo gifted Dr. Patil a selection of novels he has written.
