The Deputy Director reports directly to the Director of Public Information. The Deputy Director is responsible for strengthening support for the DPI. Developing communications messages and strategies on priority issues, implementing and coordinating communications activities between the Department and the governmental bodies. Overlooking the departments to ensure a smooth flow of daily operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director with strategic planning and coordination of the department’s programs, activities, and budget (meet, sustain, maintain)
  • Collaborate with Department’s Heads to plan and execute its daily functions
  • – Effectively oversee program and project implementation assigned by the Director
  • – Provide leadership and direction for the organisation’s staff
  • – Represent the Department at key stakeholders and partners events and meetings
  • – Prepare and submit required reports
  • – Manage the Department in the absence of the Director
  • – Contribute to the formulation of the Department’s overall strategies and policies by participating in various committees, preparing documents on policy issues
  • – Contribute to the overall management of the Department’s activities and operations.

The News Editor must have a keen eye and attention to detail. They will be required to assist with assigning Communications Officers, tracking workflow, editing content for broadcast/online/print and reviewing scripts. He or she will report directly to the Editor-in-Chief. The applicant should be knowledgeable in current affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • – Edit news stories, features, releases, documentaries, etc. for national print, broadcasting, and electronic media on a daily basis
  • – Assist in the coordination and completion of the daily TV production
  • – Assist in the coordination and assigning of Communications Officers daily
  • – Prepare newscasts for broadcast media in a timely manner
  • – Any other editing duties assigned

Job Specification

  • – A Bachelors degree in Journalism/Communications studies/Social Sciences or related field
  • – A minimum of three-year experience in similar field
  • – Written/verbal skills in the English Language are essential

The Communication officer will produce and disseminate information on national sectorial policies, programs and projects through the print and electronic media. Possess excellent verbal and written skills in English language.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a film or video editor, you’ll be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product that’s suitable for broadcasting. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects. This is a key role in the post-production process and your skills can determine the quality and delivery of the final product. You’ll usually work closely with the Communications Officer to achieve the desired end result.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • – Using industry standard non-linear editing software to compile, edit and produce video packages for Newscasts, documentaries, commercials and features
  • – Ingesting and correctly cataloguing raw footage captured by videographer
  • – Using additional editing software to enhance footage using color correction techniques and audio software to make minor adjustments

Job Specification

  • – Proven work experience as a video editor
  • – Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
  • – Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • – Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
  • – Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing a plus
  • – Creative mind and storytelling skills

The videographer will shoot footage and assist in editing. The videographer will accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to production and post-production. He or she will transport, set up, and operate equipment; and assist with staging, set preparation and dressing. The videographer will work closely with the Communication Officer to execute the assignment through to completion.

Job Specification

  • – Must be able to operate and set Sony NX HD Camera when shooting for indoor and outdoor settings.

The Advertising & PR assistant will be responsible for assisting the Advertising & PR Manager in all duties assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • – Verification of invoices received to ensure all advertisements were placed

  • – Oversee follow up calls are made to client are in receipt of their invoices and for payments that are outstanding

The Receptionist is responsible for the routing of incoming calls and dispensation of all outgoing calls.

  • – Manage switchboard
  • – Route all incoming calls to the respective recipient

  • – Make reports to telephone service provider regarding malfunctioning of any device
