Region Three administration honours mothers

Several mothers within the Region Three (Essequibo Islands/ West Demerara) administration were on May 11, treated to a special luncheon and given tokens of appreciation, in celebration of Mother’s Day.

Regional Executive Officer Dennis Jaikaran J.P pledged to continue honouring mothers and women in general, noting their “enormous contributions to society.”

“Women have climbed the ladder of success in all sectors of work that contributed to the current status of this country and as a man, I am most grateful for the opportunity here and now to publicly show my appreciation,” the REO said.

Staff from the Accounts, Local Government, Personnel, Engineering, Registry, Field Audit and Sub-Treasury departments, were among those honoured.

This is the third year, in succession, such an activity is being held. Jaikaran added, “I am extremely thankful to have who are working with me to make Essequibo Islands-West Demerara a better place.”  He also stressed that mothers should be appreciated throughout the year.
