Santa Aratak welcomes new Toshao and councillors

DPI, GUYANA, Monday, June 4, 2018

Santa Aratak’s newly-elected Toshao Hilton Williams has pledged to be transparent and accountable as he continues the work of his predecessor, Aubrey Samuels.

Toshao Williams is joined by six new councillors – Clifford Barker, Merly Campo, Irving Daniels, Zwantje De Cambra Harold Newton and Winston Smith.

Williams told the Department of Public Information (DPI) that Santa Aratak is thriving and his decision to continue the work of his predecessor will guarantee the advancement of the community.

Outlining his council’s agenda, the new Tosaho said they will be focused on “Green Agenda” initiatives and projects in education and sports to ensure the development of the community’s youths. Williams said that he is optimistic that the  relevant stakeholders will come on board to assist the council in such an initiative.

Santa Aratak, with a population of 3000 persons, is the only indigenous settlement in Region Three and is located on the bank of the Kamuni Creek.
