1,808 persons tested for COVID-19 to date

The Ministry of Public health has reported as of June 7, 2020, the total number of persons tested for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is 1,808 with 1,654 of those yielding negative results

The number of confirmed cases remains at 154, this is inclusive of 12 deaths and 80 recoveries.

There are 62 active cases are in isolation at various facilities across Guyana; 2 patients in the COVID-19 ICU at the GPHC and 14 persons in institutional quarantine

Citizens are asked to always practice social distancing in the workplace, public spaces, and while using public transportation to reduce the spread of the coronavirus disease. They are also reminded to practise frequent hand washing/sanitising and always wear a face mask if they have to go out.

Globally, the WHO has reported as of June 7, 2020, the number of confirmed cases has increased to 6,799,713 with 397,388 deaths. While in the Regions of the Americas, positive cases have reached a total of 3,234,875 with 179,394 deaths.
