167 ballot boxes remain to be recounted

Today a total of 76 ballot boxes were recounted which now leaves 167 to be completed as the national recount of votes cast on March 2 continues.

The process which is being undertaken at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre looks likely to conclude before the June 13 deadline as the country awaits the final declaration.

It is being projected that Monday, June 8 could be the end of the recount as there are 12 workstations allotted to District four since all other districts have been completed.

The declarations of the results will be made after the commission examines and deliberates on the full report by the Chief Elections Officer.

To date, a total of 2,153 Statements of Recount were tabulated for the General Elections and 2,133 at the Regional.
