During a recent visit to Lethem, Region Nine, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), Lelon Saul announced that each of these homes will cost $2M and will be built to specifications suited to their locations.

Noting that adequate housing is a basic human right and a constitutional guarantee, Saul added that ensuring eligible citizens in Guyana have access to affordable living solutions is a top priority, hence the construction of homes across the country.

Speaking on housing development in Region Nine, Saul said “the CH&PA is also addressing housing needs in such areas as Simoni, Sand Creek, Massara, Karasabai and Krowdar. To date, approximately fifty houses have been constructed and this is with full house subsidies.”
