August 4, 2020 The Government of Guyana is pleased to support the candidacyof Mr. Mauricio Claver - Carone who has been nominated bythe United States of America for the post of President of theInter - American Development Bank (IDB). Mr. Claver-Carone’s experience in senior positions of the USTreasury Department, the US National Security Council and asUS Executive Director of the IMF augur well for his presidency. The IDB will hold elections on 12 and 13 September to succeedthe current President Luis Alberto Moreno of Colombia whose term ends on 30 September2020.
