All Matters Pertaining to GuySuCo and NICIL are being Addressed at the Highest Levels

Georgetown, December 17, 2018.

The Guyana Sugar Corporation Inc. (GuySuCo) has taken note of the front page headline article in the Stabroek News on 17 December, 2018, titled ‘GuySuCo managers, staff to up protest against NICIL’ which has not been been sanctioned nor communicated by GuySuCo’s management nor Board of Directors. The Corporation, however, notes that the concerns raised in the article, are currently being addressed at the highest levels of the Government, Board of Directors of GuySuCo and the Chief Executive.

Due to the efforts at various levels to resolve the issues stated in the article, the Corporation would like to assure managers and staff that these matters will be resolved and as such, individual staff members should not be persuaded to resort to any suggested protest action on 20 and 21 December, 2018.

Employees of the Corporation will receive regular updates, on the progress of these engagements.
