Ambassador Lynch Visits Bartica for Meetings with Region Seven Leaders

BARTICA – In line with the U.S. Embassy commitment to help build capacity in remote areas, Ambassador Lynch made a trip to Region Seven and met with officials from the Regional Democratic Council, the Regional Police, the Mayor’s office, and the regional hospital. Ambassador Lynch enjoyed her discussions with regional leaders about the infrastructure, security, green economy, and social services of Cuyuni-Mazaruni. Noting the appeal for tourists in the region, Ambassador Lynch remarked, “It is great to see Bartica playing its part in the preservation of Guyana’s natural wealth and beauty in pursuing sustainable tourism. It’s my first visit to Bartica, and I’m sure it won’t be my last.”
