Bees be gone

Whim residents to get relief from bee infestation

DPI, Guyana, Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Residents in the Whim community are poised to see some relief from bee infestation as a resident of the community took to the government’s outreach today to have the issue address with the Ministry of Agriculture.

Amongst the many persons attending today’s outreach was visually impaired Marlon Kurt, who came to have a similar issue addressed at near his Whim home. He was ecstatic to be able to finally have the issue handled.

“I’m dealing with some bees in the bush there at Whim for many of years. I walked all about and complain about it, never really got any assistance, but now it seems as though I’ll have some help,”

Kurt indicated that he was given all assurance by the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA), that they will be taking the necessary steps to have the issue addressed while simultaneously having his canals and drains cleared.

Scores of other persons visited the University of Guyana’s Tain Campus in anticipation of the Government of Guyana’s outreach, which is geared towards bringing the government to the people directly.

The outreach comes on the heels of a similar activity conducted on March 27, 2019, which saw thousands of citizens coming out to have their issues addressed, or simply to meet with the various ministers and elected officials.
