CDC makes a sizeable donation to Human Services and Social Security Ministry

— aims to assist convalescent homes

The Civil Defence Commission (CDC), today, made a sizeable donation of hygienic products to the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security’s Childcare and Protection Agency (CPA), to distribute to their homes countrywide, in an effort to assist in maintaining health protocols amid the COVID pandemic.

During a simple handover ceremony, at the National Gymnasium, Director of the CPA, Ms. Ann Greene, expressed appreciation the CDC for its assistance.

“For the children in the homes, this certainly will be an asset and will add to what we have and improve on what we are doing to keep children safe,” she remarked.

Logistics Coordinator of the CDC, Major Loring Benons, noted that the donation was facilitated by various businesses and NGOs.

“This donation is just an example of how the private sector and other non-governmental organisations are making donating to households and communities. The CDC, on behalf of the Government, is pleased to make this donation to the Ministry of Human Service and Social Security,” he stated.

The CDC welcomes donations of food supplies, personal care and sanitation supplies, or financing. Items can be sent to the headquarters on Thomas Road, Thomas Lands daily between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm. Also, funds can be deposited to the Commission’s Republic Bank account number 962356519938.
