CH&PA audited financial statements to be laid in National Assembly

Minister of State, Joseph Harmon, announced at a recent post-cabinet press briefing that audited financial statements for the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) for the year 2017 will be laid in the National Assembly at its next sitting.
This is after Minister of Communities, Ronald Bulkan, presented the financial document to the Cabinet which gave its approval to the statement. As required by law, financial statements of government agencies are presented to the Cabinet for approval before being laid in the National Assembly.
Submission of audited financial statements is part of a continuing process to provide, a transparent and accountable government administration to the people of Guyana. In addition to submitting to the National Assembly, the findings of the audits are also being made accessible to the public through the Ministry of Finance’s website.
