Technical Officer within the Ministry of Social Cohesion with the responsibility for Regions Five and Six, Natasha Singh Lewis, had disclosed that the sessions aim to help the participants to first identify their own hidden biases, which may contribute to the isolation of others, and become more aware of the diversity within their communities.

The Mayor of New Amsterdam Winifred Haywood, who was present throughout the two-day workshop, urged the participants to make full use of the sessions, as it will equip them with necessary skills that will help them better serve their diverse communities.

At the conclusion of the exercise, Regional Education Officer Volika Jaikissoon in brief remarks, noted that social cohesion begins with an individual and their mindset towards others around them. Jaikissoon explained that social cohesion involves various persons within a community living and working together in accord to develop their area.

Several of the participants disclosed that they intend to share the knowledge gained from the workshop with their peers, to help them to transform their lives and communities.

Tasha Daniels, a Constable of the Guyana Police Force said she decided to participate in the workshop, because she wanted to be more knowledgeable about social cohesion.
