Cuba congratulates H.E Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali

President Díaz-Canel Bermúdez pledges continued friendship and cooperation

The Government of Cuba has sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, on his ascension to government.

In the letter sent to the Head of State by President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Dr. Ali’s electoral win was lauded and supported.

“Congratulation on the electoral triumph of the People’s Progressive Party and your election as President of the Cooperative of Guyana” President Díaz-Canel Bermúdez stated.

The Cuban President said the occasion was an auspicious one and expressed the will to continue strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

“Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my highest consideration and esteem. President Díaz-Canel Bermúdez added.

Dr. Ali was sworn into office on Sunday last. He has since appointed his transition team of Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Prime Minister, Mark Phillips, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Anil Nandlall and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Gail Teixeira.

On Wednesday, President Ali appointed 19 more cabinet members and Ministers of Government.
