Education Min. coming bigger, better for Mash 2020

DPI, Guyana, Friday, February 14, 2020

With a 200-strong contingent, the Ministry of Education is coming bigger and better of the 2020 Mashramani Costume and Float parade

Unlike past years the Ministry will be competing in the medium band category

At today’s official launch of the ministry’s band, Designer Neilson Nurse disclosed that it will depict various elements that coincide with the nation’s decade of development.

“We also decided to play with the national colours – blending them effectively and creatively,” Nurse added as he provided an overview of the costumes displayed today.

Minister of Education, Dr. the Hon. Nicolette Henry remarked that her ministry’s performance will be an energetic one as they aim to win the first prize.

“Let’s remember as much as we dance and have fun let’s remember we need to do this education-style,” Dr. Henry encouraged.

As part of its calendar of activities leading on to Republic Day, tomorrow the ministry will be hosting its Children Costume and Float Parade. The event begins at 10 am from Parade Ground and culminates at the National Park.

Guyana’s 50th Republic celebration is themed, “Guyana Together: Reflect, Celebrate, Transform.”
