Eureka Laboratory launches Fast Track services – initiative lauded by First Lady and Min. of Health

DPI, GUYANA, Wednesday, May 16, 2018

Speedy blood testing is now available for persons on the go following the launch of Eureka Medical Laboratories’ ‘Fast-Track’ service last evening, at its main office on Thomas Street, North Cummingsburg.

The service will ensure minimal delay through the elimination of long waiting lines.

Minister of Public Health Volda Lawrence commended Eureka Laboratories for recognising the need to provide a faster more efficient way to manage a vital aspect of local health care.

“Eureka has recognised that our health needs must be adequately met, since, in the long run, a healthy nation is crucial to the sustainability of our economy and our country. Further, this moves directly in sync with the Ministry’s health vision which seeks to make Guyanese the healthiest in the Caribbean but more importantly supports the ministry’s goal of making our people more conscious of their health”, the Minister stated.

First Lady, Sandra Granger described the ‘Fast-Track’ service as another step in the right direction. She said, “It is the service that Eureka has built upon and aims to expand with the provision of this new fast track service using information and communication technology which is being formally opened here today. I am honoured to share in this occasion.”

CEO of Eureka Laboratory William Boyle reminded his team to ensure the provision of service that is second to none, adding that it is important that everyone is treated with a similar level of professionalism.

“The same service you can receive in Miami or New York or Canada, let us make sure that we provide it here and the same way that you treat the First Lady, you must ensure to treat the ordinary farmer or the cane cutter, with the same respect. We must provide a service that ensures all Guyanese leave our facilities satisfied”, Boyle reiterated.

The new service is available from 7 am to 10 pm daily. Boyle said they are aiming for 24 hours service in the near future. The rapid result tests will cover a range of ailments and persons are guaranteed confidential service. The EML provides a wide range of medical tests in the departments of haematology, microbiology, serology, endocrinology and clinical chemistry.
