ExxonMobil Guyana Activity Update

November 15, 2018

World Science Day for Peace and Development was celebrated on Sunday, November 10th under the theme: “Science and Technology for a sustainable future.”  Through an initiative to promote the importance of STEM education in Guyana, ExxonMobil Guyana and the University of Guyana partnered in hosting an informative 2-day Geophysics Short Course held on November 13th and 14th.

The course being the second to be hosted at the university saw 71 participants, and covered a multitude of topics such as exploration, field scale geophysics, seismic acquisition and processing, rock physics, and seismic interpretation. This particular course leveraged lessons learned on subsurface integration in Exploration, and introduced concepts from Development and Production.

ExxonMobil Guyana is proud to contribute to the development and promotion of science education in Guyana. We are proud to support initiatives like this.
