Venue Manager of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20, Sabrina Panday

This was announced at the THAG’s press briefing hosted today at the Roraima Duke Lodge, Duke Street.

Sabrina Panday, Venue Manager of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20, explained that the 10-team tournament will highlight the best of the best female cricketers and expressed the hope that fans will come out to support their female cricketers. Ticket prices are $500 and $1,000.

“We [ICC Women] are at a point where we will not only be encouraging and having persons coming to Guyana to see the matches, but we will have a viewing audience of 200 million people to put Guyana on the map… So, with that in mind tickets are going for as low as $500 for the grass mound and $1,000 in the stands,” Panday said.

She noted that while the matches will be split between Guyana and St. Lucia, the semi-finals and finals will be held in Antigua.

There will also be live concerts featuring international and local artistes such Shenseea, Patricia Roberts, Timeka Marshall, Vanilla, Big Red, Jomo, among others, at every match.

In addition, Panday said various aspects of sports tourism offered in the country will be promoted through advertisements.
