Football federation, Guyana Beverages Inc. sign MOU

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and the Guyana Beverages Incorporated officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to continue the work of the GFF-Koolkid Grassroots programme – a youth football development initiative.

The signing of the two-year agreement was held in the boardroom of the GFF’s Secretariat.

Guyana Beverages Incorporated, Commercial Manager, Samuel Arjune, stated that this initiative is a commendable one, that allows the company to provide opportunities to further the development of young people.

Arjune also stated, “we at the Guyana Beverages are happy to have been given the opportunity to help the Guyana Football club and to assist Wayne Forde in delivering his GFF mandate to develop grassroots football throughout Guyana.”

President of the Guyana Football Association, Wayne Forde, in his remarks, stated that at over the years at many critical junctures in the history of local sports, the beverage company has over singlehandedly invested in sporting activities, sporting clubs and other sporting institutions.

Forde added that the children who are participating in the Grassroot programme have been showing great enthusiasm.

The Guyana Beverages Incorporated has been playing a major role in sports development mainly football development over the years. The Koolkidz Grassroot Programme is hoping to accommodate three thousand children this year.
