She relayed that as of October 28, there have been a total of 17,243 transactions carried-out by the commission. It was also revealed that there have been 9,516 Transfers, 1,672 Corrections, 472 photos retaken and a total of 32 Objections.

The PRO also highlighted that the list from House-to-House Registration is currently displayed for public scrutiny and for persons to verify their information. She reminded that if there are changes to be made to a person’s information, they should visit the GECOM offices in their area to update accordingly.

Within the next two weeks, the Claims and Objections Period, which began on October 1, will come to an end on November 11. Specifically, persons wishing to make claims have until November 4 while those who have objections have until November 9 to do so.

Eligible voters across the country are being encouraged to check the Preliminary List of Electors to ensure their names are listed and the information recorded is correct.  Persons can do so by visiting the GECOM’s website (www.gecom.org.gy/home/ple) and by simply using their national identification number.
