DPI, Guyana, Tuesday, August 14, 2018

Guyana Power and Light (GPL) will begin a series of outreaches this Friday as part of improving customer relations and answering their questions.

According to GPL’s Divisional Commercial Manager, Rhonda La Fargue, “we want to be more customer friendly we depend on our customers for business so we are going out into the communities so we can interact with our customers. It’s not always convenient for customers to come to our offices so we are going to go to some strategic areas and spend the day there providing information, answering questions taking applications from customers in their neck of the woods to make it easy for them.”

Divisional Director of Commercial Services, Rhonda La Fargue

The first outreaches are on Friday, August 17, at the Massy supermarket in Providence; Friday, August 24 at Bounty Supermarket on Water Street; and on Friday, August 31 at the Giftland Mall. The sessions cater for people unable to visit GPL locations. The outreaches will run from 10:00hrs to 15:00hrs.

“Customers who don’t want to come all the way to Main Street or to go all the way up to our office at Grove they can just stop in at Massy and collect any information they need, ask any question they have and if we can’t answer it on spot we will certainly get back to them. Bounty on Water Street, that is for customers in that vicinity that may have queries and don’t have the time to come down to the office.”

Customers are advised to walk with their account number when making a query. Applications for new services will also be accepted at the outreaches. Other documents required are proof of identification, proof of tenancy or ownership and a certificate of inspection when applying for a new service.
