Guyana Police Force participated in a Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting

On Wednesday February 27, 2019 ranks of the Guyana Police Force participated in a Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting that was held at the Child Advocacy Center Blossom Inc. located at Land of Plenty, Essequibo Coast.

During the meeting which was coordinated by founder Ms. Ayo Dalgety-Dean addressed pertinent issues affecting residents of the community and the Guyana Police Force as well and discussed ways to tackle these problems.

Some of the topics discussed were:

  • Purpose of Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Forensic Interviews
  • Referrals from CPA and Police
  • Medical services
  • Mental Health Services and Trauma Therapy
  • Victim Support
  • The Toshoa’s non-cooperation with police in order to apprehend suspects
  • Persons/Victims not reporting to the police after having being discharged from the hospital

In attendance were Ms. Hastings, Ms. Spellin-Singh (Child Care), Ms. Amsterdam, Ms. Barakat (Representative from Blossom Inc.), Detective Inspector Denaise Adams and Woman Corporal 20134 Monette Boston of the Guyana Police Force.
