Head of State worships with hundreds as new Dean of Georgetown appointed
Georgetown, GINA, February 3, 2014
The official appointment of new church officials saw the Head of State, President Donald Ramotar joining other dignitaries including Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Opposition leader David Granger and hundreds of other persons filling the pews of St George’s Cathedral on Sunday.

Those appointed were Dean of Georgetown and Rector of St George’s Cathedral Reverend Paul Andrew Carto, Senior Arch Deacon Terry Davis, Canon to the Stall of St David Reverend David Elias and Honorary Canon Reverend Jerrick Rayside.

The congregation was treated to several hymns by the St George’s Choir and sermons by Arch Deacon of the West Central Bahamas Reverend Ranfurly Brown.

The St George’s Cathedral is a mainstay of the Guyana Anglican Diocese, one of eight within the Caribbean region.
