Samuels related that, “he(Trim) has given clear indication that there has been a significant improvement in terms of his ability to feel and move his hands and so on.”

The Director of Prisons (ag) said that he did not enquire about the incident on Sunday at the prison, because, “I believe because of his state of recovery that might be pushing too much pressure on him at this early stage.”

Samuels gave his commitment that the Prison Service will aid Trim and his family throughout the process of his recuperation.

Inmates of the Georgetown prison set fire to the Camp Street facility on Sunday, July 09, 2017. Trim is one of the several prison officers who was hospitalised with gunshot and chop wounds.  One prison officer Odinga Wickham died, while receiving medical attention.
