Infrastructure works moving apace in Reg. 2

The Regional Administration of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Region 2 is inviting eligible bidders to submit bids for the third set of projects.

Under the Administration and Finance Programme, the region is advertising for the repairs to the fence at the RDC compound at an engineer’s estimate $5M.

For Programme Two (Agriculture), eligible bidders can bid for the maintenance of all-weather roads from Westbury to Better Hope, Henrietta, Coffee Grove to D10, Lima to Coffee Grove Cross and Huist T’ Dieren at the engineer’s estimate of $5M, $4M, $6M, $4M and $4M, respectively.

Tenders that are out for Programme Three – Infrastructure repairs to living quarters (RDC: A-23) in the Cotton Field Compound, an engineer has estimated $5M and repairs to building A-39 at Anna Regina $6M.

For education and health, general repairs to the Department of Education at Cotton Field has been estimated at $6M while general repairs to timber revetment at Anna Regina Secondary School is estimated at $5M. General repairs to the nurses’ hostel at Oscar Joseph District Hospital has been estimated at $5M, and general repairs to the nurses’ hostel at Suddie Public Hospital will cost $6M.

According to Chairman of the Tender Board, Denis Jaikaran, bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding Procedures specified in the Procurement Act 2003 and is open to all bidders, subject to provisions of Section 111 of this document. He further stated that all bid documents must be submitted with valid Business Registration and compliances from the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the National Insurance Scheme (NIS).

Interested eligible contractors must uplift a complete set of bidding documents in English upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $3,500 each at the RDC Office from Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00hrs to 15:30hrs.

The Chairman of the Tender Board is also advising contractors to submit their bids in plain sealed envelopes bearing no identity of the tenderer on the outside. The name of the project must be clearly written on the upper left-hand corner and the envelope must be addressed to the Chairman, Regional Tender Administration Board, Pomeroon-Supenaam Region – Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast.

All tenders must be deposited in the tender box no later than Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 09:00hrs. Electronic bidding is not permitted.

Jaikaran further stated that bids will be open immediately after the closing of the tender box in the Regional Procurement and Tender Administration Boardroom and in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

The Regional Tender Administration Board reserves the right to reject any or all the bids without assigning any reason whatsoever and not necessarily to award to the lowest bid.
