‘March is month; 2nd is the day for you to decide’ – President David Granger

“Elections thirty-six hours from now will be about leadership,” His Excellency David Granger told a mammoth crowd at D’Urban Park on Saturday evening.

Speaking at the A Partnership for National Unity, Alliance for Change (APNU+AFC) final rally in Georgetown, the Head of State encouraged Guyanese to vote wisely on March 2, 2020, General and Regional Elections and elect a government that would take the country forward.

Reflecting on Guyana’s development over the last four years, President Granger stated that since the Coalition assumed office in 2015, the country has experienced positive growth as compared to the previous administration.

“Under the APNU+AFC, every year there has been positive growth and we will continue to grow the economy from 2020 and onwards.”

The President told the vibrant crowd that he has a vision of development for the next decade and if reelected, will see the implementation of several programmes designed to ensure citizens in every corner of the country enjoy a good life.

Referring to theDecade of Development’ the Head of State told the crowd of cheering supporters, “I am the man with the plan.”

He said much focus will be placed on youth development and empowerment because preparing young people to become the future leaders of Guyana is crucial to the country’s development.

The President reemphasized his plans to abolish shanty towns and ensure squatting comes to an end.  “We have a plan to reduce inequality,” he expressed, adding that “development is assured under the APNU+AFC.”

As he concluded his speech the Head of State emphasised: “March is the month, the 2nd is the day but now is the hour for you to decide whether you want a proper leader!”
