Minister Norton, who also holds the responsibility for Culture, Sport, and previously Youth, was asked to make the presentation of the cheque, as the repairs will benefit mostly the community’s youths.

According to Leader of the Visionary Adolescent Youth Group, Ms. Sharon Ross, the building has been serving the community for many years, but is now in need of many repairs.

These include an upgrade of the washroom facilities, the electrical wiring, guttering, painting and plumbing. There are also plans to construct a fence.

“We are hoping to get more sponsors to complete all that has to be done, but in the meantime, we are most thankful for this donation. The building is a safe space for many and we want to keep it that way,” Ross said.

Upon completion of the repairs, efforts will be made for the installation of an ICT Hub to serve the youths of the community.

Minister Norton expressed sincere gratitude to the donor for the timely donation and encouraged the group to continue working for the good of the community.
