Minister Bharrat, Youth in Natural Resources share Christmas cheer at Mahaica Children’s Home

The joy of Christmas was felt on Sunday afternoon when Minister of Natural Resources, Hon. Vickram Bharrat and the ‘Youth in Natural Resources’ hosted a Christmas concert and shared gifts at the Mahaica Children’s Home.

The energetic audience was entertained by dances and poems, while a choir belted out several Christmas carols. The children also witnessed a special segment where locally branded clothes were displayed.

Minister Bharrat, while extending Christmas wishes, reminded the audience that this is the season where love must be demonstrated. He said the programme was organised to ensure the Ministry took part in spreading the joy and hope of Christmas.

“Christmas is about sharing and giving, not necessary material things but it’s about spreading hope, joy and happiness,” Minister Bharrat said.

The Minister lauded those who sacrifice their time daily to provide for the children.

“Being here and taking care of you is a selfless act that cannot be remunerated or we cannot put a salary or price tag on; they do it for the love of you and I believe that everyone has a purpose in life regardless of how different we are,” Minister Bharrat added.

Ms. Lourianne Pluck, Programme Coordinator of the Ministry’s youth group, said they will be hosting Christmas concerts nationwide.
