Minister of Foreign Affairs engages diaspora and prospective investors in Atlanta, Georgia

DPI, GUYANA, Friday, May 25, 2018

Minister of Foreign Affairs Carl Greenidge engaged the diaspora and prospective investors in Atlanta, United States of America yesterday.

The Minister met with the Guyanese diaspora in Atlanta at the AEI Start-up Factory, where he highlighted the diaspora’s importance in defending the country’s territorial integrity.

“Our diaspora policy is intended to ensure that we utilise even in something like territorial integrity the skills experience energy and voices of the diaspora to help us to defend that territory”, Minister Greenidge said.

He added that the skills of the diaspora are as equally important as the resources they send home.

The Minister also met with The NCR Corporation during his two-day trip to the United States. The tech company pitched how its services can be utilised in Guyana’s developmental agenda. “It has certainly made an impact on me. It is perhaps of special interest to see the extent to which you are committed to working with other entities particularly those which might have special experience, skills or links to Guyana”, Minister Greenidge noted following the presentation.

NCR is a company that makes self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines, check processing systems, barcode scanners, and business consumables.
