Minister of State receives courtesy call from Conservation International

Georgetown, Guyana – (March 19, 2018Minister of State, Mr. Joseph Harmon, today, received a courtesy call from President of Conservation International (CI), Ms. Jennifer Morris, at his office at the Ministry of the Presidency. Ms. Morris was accompanied by Dr. Daniela Raik, Senior Vice President; Mr. Hank Cauley, Senior Vice President, Center for Environmental Leadership in Business; Ms. Lisa Famolare, Vice President, Amazonia Program Americas Field Division and Head of CI-Guyana, Dr. David Singh.

During the meeting, the group discussed support for Guyana’s Green State Development Strategy (GSDS), the establishment of other Protected Areas and Guyana’s commitment to the Paris Agreement, and other related issues.

Chairperson of the Protected Areas Commission (PAC), Ms. Denise Bentick, Adviser to Minister Harmon on Land Management, Mr. Dooerga Persaud and Mr. Curtis Bernard of CI-G, were also in attendance.
