Minister Simona Broomes visits Albouystown

– gives back for the holiday season.

Minister within the Ministry of Natural Resources Simona Broomes visited the community of Albouystown today to give back to the children and senior citizens during this festive season.

This initiative was facilitated through her soon-to-be-launched foundation – the Broomes Foundation” which will focus on Community Empowerment, Education and Women’s Empowerment among others social matters.

During the visit, the Minister walked through the streets of Albouystown putting smiles on the faces of several children as she handed out early Christmas presents.

Some lucky senior citizens also received hampers and were elated by the kind gesture by the Minister.

Broomes noted that it is important that each child get the opportunity to enjoy the holiday. She emphasised her commitment to visit several other communities to continue her work and further explained that her upcoming foundation which will soon be officially launched will see various societal issues being addressed and resolved.

The Minister went onteo say that giving back should not be around Christmas time alone but throughout the year. “It is important that we look out for the less fortunate, those that are homeless and help them…I am committed to seeing that become a reality”
