Ministry of Natural Resources congratulates TOTALTEC for oilfield operator training programme

March 26, 2018-The Ministry of Natural Resources congratulates TOTALTEC and the Guyana Shore Base Inc. for their pioneering commitment to building local capacity and services for the oil and gas industry with the commencement today of training of the first batch of persons undertaking the Oilfield Operator Training Programme.

As the Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana seeks to build capacity in all spheres of the oil and gas industry, we embrace the private sector and local and international service providers for taking the initiative to get busy preparing for this new industry.

That local companies and their overseas partners are willing to invest in training young Guyanese for the oil industry speaks volumes to the confidence that they repose in Guyana as a country and in our ability to come together for a common purpose.

The training that this programme provides will be a catalyst for further investment by both Government and the private sector as the task ahead of us is huge and all will be required to participate.

The Ministry commends all local companies and their overseas partners in the oil and gas industry as together we work towards production of petroleum in 2020 and the continued exploration and other related activities for which these skills will be vital.
