Miss Guyana Universe calls on President

Georgetown, GINA, October 9, 2013

Three days after being crowned Miss Guyana Universe, Katherina Roshana, paid a courtesy call on President Donald Ramotar as she prepares to represent her country on the world stage next month.

The 22-year-old was crowned on the evening of October 6 as she contested the Miss Guyana Universe Pageant with eight other delegates at the Pegasus Hotel poolside.

As Roshana gets ready for the Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow on November 9, she was enlightened about the Russian history and culture by the Head of State who pursued studies there.

Her aim is to “get that crown” but also to showcase Guyana and what it has to offer the world.

Last Sunday’s pageant has taught Roshana a valuable lesson about self respect, patriotism and a few other qualities she shared in a brief interview with the Government Information Agency (GINA).

An international ambassador for peace and a spokesperson for children with autism, Roshana also won the Miss India Worldwide crown in February this year.

Joining the meeting with President Ramotar were her sister Rosheena Khan, Miss India Guyana franchise holder Chandini Rambalak and Patricia Coates, who was integrally involved in the Miss Guyana Universe pageant.
