Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman, at a recent press conference, noted that “this is a manifesto promise that we are going to complete this year”.

The Ministry will be engaging stakeholders in a series of policies and programmes relating to the natural resources sector. Minister Trotman noted that the government will also be engaging the diaspora.

“Cabinet…has recommended that several ministries collaborate to do extra-territorial consultations, that is in region 11 of Guyana,” the Minister pointed out. The consultations will target Guyanese societies in Barbados, Antigua, USA and to a lesser extent the United Kingdom.

The Ministry will also be engaging Guyanese across the country, updating them on the developments in the natural resources sector. Last year, the Ministry engaged several communities including business associations, during outreaches across Guyana.
