MV Kimbia sails again

The Transport and Harbours Department’s MV Kimbia has made its first voyage since rehabilitation, as it returned to Mabaruma, Region 1 on Wednesday carrying with it more than 200 passengers, goods and vehicles.

The vessel, which was under rehabilitation for more than three years, was recommissioned on April 2.

Prior to its recommissioning, persons were forced to endure a 20 hours trip by speedboat.

Minister with responsibility for Housing, Anette Ferguson was present at the recommissioning exercise and interacted with residents. She reassured them of safe and improved transportation for the district.
