National recount sees 964 ballot boxes completed to date

The national recount of the March 2, 2020, General and Regional Elections is moving ahead with the completion of some 964 ballot boxes so far.

At the end of the count today, the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) reported the completion of 87 ballot boxes, the second-highest number of boxes since the national recount got underway over two weeks ago. The first was 88 boxes recounted on Thursday.

Of the 87 boxes examined today, 19 were for Region Three, 19 for Region Four, 14 for Region Five, 24 for Region Six and 11 for Region Seven.

Today also saw the tabulation of 928 Statements of Recount (SOR) for the General elections and 927 for the Regional.
