Rainfall records for the past 24 hours, measured at 08:00 hrs Sunday July 09, 2017, were available for most of the stations.

The highest rainfall of 36.6 mm was recorded at 58 Miles Mabura Road in Region 10.

Synopsis: Localized conditions were responsible for the weather conditions observed throughout Guyana today.

Today’s weather review: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate showers are expected throughout Guyana today. Some locations also experienced brief heavy showers.

Tonight’s forecast: Partly cloudy skies becoming occasionally cloudy with scattered light to moderate showers are likely throughout Guyana tonight. Parts of Regions 7 to 10 may also experience isolated thundershowers.

Tomorrow’s forecast: Mostly cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate showers are likely throughout Guyana during the morning hours. Regions 2 to 6 can expect conditions to improve as the day progresses. All other locations can expect afternoon thundershowers. 

Sea conditions: SLIGHT SEAS WITH WAVES REACHING HEIGHTS OF 1.0 TO 1.5 METERS IN OPEN WATERS

Tuesday and Wednesday: Cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate showers are expected during the early to mid-morning hours along the Coast. Conditions are likely to improve as during the afternoon hours. Twenty-four hours rainfall is expected to range between 10 mm and 25 mm. All other locations can expect cloudy to overcast skies with light to moderate showers and frequent rain. Thundershowers are also likely during the afternoon and evening hours. Twenty-four hours accumulated rainfall is likely to range between 30 mm and 60 mm with the maximum over Region 10.

Thursday thru’ Saturday: Cloudy to overcast skies accompanied by intermittent rain and light to moderate showers are likely throughout Guyana during this period. Thundershowers are also likely over Region 6 to 10. Twenty-four hours accumulated rainfall is likely to range between 30 mm and 60 mmwith the maximum over Regions 7 and 8.
