Regional Executive Officer (REO), Dennis Jaikran.

Jaikran was speaking at a meeting in the Tapakuma Lake Village chaired by Minister of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs, Hon. Sydney Allicock.

On November 14, the Guyana Times was reported to have carried an article stating that the “entity’s kitchen is out of essential food items.’ The REO described the report as “fake news” noting that the dormitory has an adequate food supply and that the over 100 students housed at the institution are “well-fed.”

“Our children are properly fed at all our dorms… I want to state publicly that the article is totally untrue, every aspect of it is fake news,” Jaikran said.

The Anna Regina Secondary School Dormitory caters for students residing at in far-flung riverine areas in Region 2.
