No more water woes

― residents are satisfied with plans to address the insufficient supply of water in Reg. 10

DPI, Guyana, Tuesday, April 30, 2019

Residents of Upper Demerara-Berbice (Region 10) were able to consult with the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) to have their utility issues addressed at the seventh government outreach.

Resident, Prince Bruce expressed satisfaction with the plan to host a community meeting later this week, to develop a strategy to address the water supply to the village neighbouring Silver Hill.

Bruce said the decision to host the meeting was made after engaging with officials from GWI.

GWI’s Executive Director of Commercial Services and Customer Affairs, Marlon Daniels said the utility company welcomed the opportunity to interact with the public since valuable feedback on the agency’s performance can be collected.

He noted that the main issues addressed on this exercise related to account balances and a technical issue, which the Regional Manager, Raul Friday is addressing.

This is the seventh in a series of outreaches that the Government has embarked on, all to make government services more accessible to all Guyanese.
