On Saturday night, patrons turned out in their numbers as they sought the opportunity to get a final glimpse of the more than 120 exhibitors at the Green Guyana Expo, National Stadium tarmac, Providence.

Patron, Lorry Baptiste lauded the initiative, noting “I have seen a lot of private businesses showcasing their products. A lot of them we never saw (before) and did not know they existed. So, we have seen a lot of new stuff and that is very good.”

Taking a peek at the various booths while on his vacation, Gregory Denny said, “I am impressed with the local entrepreneurs, especially the young people. I am very impressed with the use of local products. And I encourage others to use more local products.”

Another patron, Philip Mc Turk said “for the first expo like this, it really made an impact seeing the different products. It is really nice to see the various types of technologies we have in Guyana, and it is mostly young people’s work. You do not usually find young people apart of such activities and it is really nice. It is a really good initiative and I think it should be held every year.”

Young Aditya Mohan browsing the various booths with his mother said he was intrigued by most of the products on display. “It was fun and very enlightening. There were a lot of things I learnt that I can share with my friends in school. I bought some books to read and a few plants for my yard. So, it was really good.”

The first of its kind Green Guyana Expo began on October 18 and concluded last evening with a grand concert.

The Green Guyana Expo and International Business Summit was held under the theme “Sustainable Economic Growth Through Small Business Innovation Entrepreneurship and Transformative Government Policies.”
