PM impressed with ICC Women’s T20

Being a cricket enthusiast, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo remarked during the West Indies vs Bangladesh ICC Women’s T20 game, “our women are as competitive and exhibit prowess equal to male cricketers.”

In a live interview at the Providence National Stadium, the Prime Minister added that Guyana is a proper venue for T20, since in our Republic many women “run things” and have distinguished themselves in all fields. “Besides, in Guyana cricket is part of the Guyanese culture, part of the rhythm of our life and our festivities”, he highlighted.

Dr Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who was recently bestowed with the Honorary Doctor of Laws by the University of the West Indies for his achievements in cricket met Prime Minister Nagamootoo, who is performing the duties of the President, where they discussed ‘ball by ball’ of yesterday’s cricket
