President attends Dharmic Sabha’s Phagwah Mela

The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha this evening hosted it Phagwah Mela and Bazaar at the lawns of the Guyana International Conference Centre (GICC), Liliendaal.

Among those in attendance were President Donald Ramotar and First Lady, Deolatchmee Ramotar, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony.

President Ramotar who extended early Phagwah greetings to Guyanese also took the opportunity to express the hope for good sense to prevail in the spirit of the season and for Parliamentarians to agree to the passage of the Anti-Money Laundering Bill. This Bill is a matter of significant importance for the country’s development and well-being of its citizens.

This is the first of several events that will be hosted by the Sabha in celebration of Holi, the festival of spring.
Holi will be celebrated in Guyana on March 17.
