President Granger approves larger plot of land for Toshaos Council Secretariat

Minister of State, Joseph Harmon today announced that President David Granger has agreed to allocate a larger plot of land for the construction of the Secretariat for the National Toshaos Council (NTC).

Minister Harmon said government is considering the lands from the Guyana Sugar Corporation, (GuySuCo) for this purpose. The NTC was last year allocated a plot of land in the Sophia Exhibition Complex.

The State Minister explained that the President, after reviewing the decision, felt the land at Sophia was a very small area.

Minister of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs, Sydney Allicock is presently in discussions with the new Chairman of the NTC, Nicholas Fredericks about the new allocation.
