President Granger attends funeral of His Lordship, Randolph George, former Bishop of Guyana

Georgetown, Guyana – (July 29, 2016) President David Granger, today, attended the funeral service of his Lordship Randolph George, former Bishop of Guyana. The service was held at the St. George’s Cathedral, Georgetown.

The late Bishop died on July 18, 2016. He served the episcopate from 1980 to 2008 and was bestowed with the Cacique Crown of Honour in 1994.

President Granger described the late Bishop as a sagacious, soft-spoken and amicable leader of the Diocese, and one who will be recorded as a person of quiet and unassuming dignity, whose respect and stature amongst the Faithful never diminished, even after his retirement.

Prime Minister, Mr. Moses Nagamootoo, Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Barton Scotland, Former President Mr. Donald Ramotar and Former Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel Hinds also attended the service.
