Press release – Digital Technology and Regal Stationery and Computer Centre donate tablets, masks and sanitisers to Education Ministry

(November 17, 2020) – Today, the Ministry of Education received a donation of several items from the Digital Technology Group and Regal Stationery and Computer Centre.

The items were handed over at the Ministry’s 26 Brickdam Office and were received by the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand on behalf of the Ministry.

The Operations Manager of Digital Technology, Ms. Jennifer Persaud handed over 30 electronic tablets to the Ministry while Ms. Telesha Ousman, Manager of Regal Stationery and Computer Centre handed over 50,000 masks, 36 sanitiser dispensers, antibacterial wipes and over 36 litres of hand sanitiser.

Minister Manickchand thanked the companies for their contributions and said that they are timely. She said that the items will go a far way in ensuring the safety of students and teachers particularly as secondary schools, Practical Instruction Centres and TVET Institutions have reopened for face-to-face learning.  

She said that the Ministry of Education looks forward to further collaboration in the future to ensure the development of the sector for the benefit of all Guyanese.
