Press release – Guyanese, Surinamese Foreign Ministers to Meet

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency Albert Ramdin, will pay an official visit to the Co- operative Republic of Guyana from October 14-16, 2020.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Ramdin is expected to meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Honourable Hugh Todd, to continue consultations on the various initiatives agreed upon by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President of the Republic of Suriname in August. Discussions will also focus on preparation for the launch of a Strategic Dialogue and Cooperation Platform (SDCP).

H.E. Ramdin will be accompanied by Minister of Public Works, H.E. Riad Nurmohamed and the Minister of Public Health, H.E. Amar Ramadhin, along with other Government Officials.

Formal diplomatic relations between the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Suriname were established on November 25, 1975.
