Public notice: Fake Profile Alert

The public is hereby advised to be on the alert for fake WhatsApp and Facebook profiles in the name of Volda Lawrence, Minister of Public Health and Chairperson of the Peoples National Council Reform. These profiles are piloted by mischievous sources and the minister disclaims any messages that might be sent to persons through these pages.
Persons are asked not to respond to messages from this fake profile.
Minister Lawrence’s Official Facebook page is ‘Hon. Volda Ann Lawrence MP and bears an official portrait of the minister as its profile picture. However, the fake profile bears no proper naming convention, it is states ‘Hon Volda Lawrence’. Also, the telephone number, (592) 649 2293, does not belong to Minister Lawrence.
The perpetrators using these two mediums of the communication, pretending to be Minister Lawrence seem to have an ulterior motive and the Department of Public Information condemns their actions.
The Minister in fact during the course of 2018, publicly issued her contact information through the media, encouraging persons with public health concerns to feel free to contact her. This is, therefore, being restated. Her secretariat can be contacted on 226-1818 and the minister can be contacted on 608 4001.
