Minister of Natural Resources Raphael Trotman announced that his ministry will provide 20 street lights to brighten up the roadways of Santa Rosa and Islands, Moruca, Region One.

Minister Trotman made the announcement during a public meeting with residents of Moruca, today. Ministry Trotman and Minister within the Ministry, Simona Broomes led a team in an outreach to the Region One sub – district.

Before the meeting, the team walked through the community and heard concerns of some of the residents, one of which is the need for more street lights along that particular roadway.

The donation is part of a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Public Infrastructure to “bring some relief” to the residents, Minister Trotman explained.

The need for more poles and lines for electricity distribution in the community was raised by the residents to the Natural Resources Minister.

The street lights are expected to be installed by the end of the month when the team revisits the community.
